Description
This electronic boost control solenoid allows an Engine Control Unit (ECU) to control boost pressure on a turbocharged engine. The ECU sends a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the solenoid. The width of these pulses determines how much the solenoid restricts pressure going to the wastegate. Therefore by controlling the pulse width the ECU has precise control over the boost pressure.
This boost control solenoid can be used with most aftermarket ECUs including Link, Vipec, MoTec, Haltech, etc. It can also be used as a replacement solenoid for most electronic boost controllers that use a solenoid for boost control (Greedy, Apexi, Gizzmo, etc). Note that most of the HKS EVC boost controllers do not use a solenoid.
The solenoid that we sell is a special order item that has been specifically designed for higher water resistance around the wires that enter the solenoid. This makes our solenoid a few dollars more expensive than some of our competitors but we believe that the extra reliability justifies this.
This boost solenoid also comes with:
- Mounting plate with rubber mount for reduced vibration.
- Two nickel plated 1/8 BSP hose tail fittings to allow simple connection.
- Detailed wiring and plumbing instructions are also included.
