Description
The Honeywell MIP series media isolated pressure sensors share the same sensing hardware as the tried-and-trusted MLH series sensors, but are more compact and are more cost effective.
Key features:
- Media Isolated sensor with stainless steel construction
- Suitable for measuring fuel and oil pressure, but can also be used to measure water, hydraulic fluids and more
- 1/8 NPT Port
- 0-100 PSI (gauge) pressure range
- Supply voltage range = 4.75V – 5.25V. Linear output range = 0.5V – 4.5V
- Uses common 3-pin Metri-Pack / GT 150 electrical connector
This Honeywell MIP-series oil/fuel pressure sensor will allow a high-quality aftermarket engine management system to monitor oil pressure and take immediate action or sound alarms if a fault condition is encountered.
For example, on a Link G4+ or G4X the smart limits can be setup to by entering the minimum oil pressures for each engine speed range. If the oil pressure drops below the threshold for the current engine speed, then the ECU can automatically limit the engine speed to any desired rpm (e.g limp home mode). Features such as this save engines time and time again. But in order to perform these features the ECU does need the appropriate oil pressure sensor.
We typically recommend using a 100psi sensor for fuel pressure and a 150psi pressure for oil pressure. However, as both sensors have the same internal construction, either sensor can be used for either purpose depending on what the required pressure measurement range is for the specific application.
This fuel pressure sensor uses a 1/8″ NPT thread and a Metri-Pack / GT 150 3-pin connector. The plug housing and terminals are included. Most aftermarket ECUs allow the sensor calibration data to be entered via the tuning software. The linear calibration for this particular sensor is:
0.5V = 0 kPa (gauge)
4.5V = 689.5 kPa (gauge)
